I happened to see the November '99 issue of Esquire Magazine which features what is ostensibly a fashion spread with Ben Harper. I recogized it for what it really was: a great pin up of a 20's Weissenborn guitar! It's actually pretty rare to see a super high quality, saturated full page shot of a steel player. You can clearly see the beautiful wood grain of the guitar - looks like a style 1 to me.

Ben Harper's web site has an extensive set of tabs of his songs and a good article about Weissenborn guitars. I'll have to look out for that photo!
