The Starliners are an Australian outfit that have been described as premier exponenets of hillbilly swing and bop.

Actually they are a good little combo that sound like a small mid 1950's Western Swing group who have gone into rockabilly..great vintage sound with a lot of energy. Retro, but very much into creating new songs and remaining a good outfit.

They are heading to the States to play Nevada at the 'Viva Las Vegas' Rockabilly festival this month. Held in Vegas annually, it's the biggest rockabilly festival in the States.
They leave for the USA on the 13th of this month and for all you west coast boys, they are going to play their first US gig on the 14th of April at Rudolpho's in Longbeach.

After the Vegas gig, they will be touring through Arizona and Texas etc, notably Tucson, Phoenix, Arizona, Alburquerque, Sant Fe, New Mexico, El Paso, San Antonio, Houston and Austin {at the Continental Club}.

They have a great Cd out, but I have lent it to a friend and cannot for the life of me think of the steel players name.
Check them out if they are in your area and you want a bit of hillbilly boogie!
