Much has been said about Jay Dee here on the Forum, and all of it good. Not only is he probably one of the top five players in the world, but he's a great guy and very humble about his talents.
The Pacific Steel album is like a later Suite Steel album, and is a must have for every country rock fan. The above tune is one of the few instrumentals that Jay Dee has recorded.
Below are some YouTube clips of the great Desert Rose Band. In addition to Jay Dee, John Jorgenson was on guitar and mandolin doing the hot picking, while Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen sang like choir boys.

| Love the Desert Rose Band clips, thanks. Disturbingly enough, I actually have a copy of that Pacific Steel lp that I picked up a year or two after it was released -- makes me feel like an antique myself -- but there's some good playing on it. |

I have that album but have not listened to it in years. Gotta get a turntable....
That tune is a good example of the pedal steel sounding great on some very NON country music. Jaydee shows us how its done, one of the best. |

I tried to figure out the chord changes.
It starts with:
A, (E), f# minor,
D, (A), b# minor...
But after 30 seconds there's a chord sequence I heard like this:
D# may7 //// A# may7 ////
F may7 //// e-minor ////
G //// D may7 ////
b-minor //// E //// going back to A... It's repeated later, again
Am I halfways right?
