Jamie, I think you might have forgotten to mention one other fact... that you got a wife out of the deal! Not only a "wife", but you're marrying into Country Music Royalty. Not bad for an alien, eh?

Wow, thankyou guys.
This is why I love the forum, everyone is supportive!
Jim - lol, kinda weird thinking George will be my father inlaw, that was not in the intial plan lol, But hey they are a great family and Georgette is one in a million.
Its great to be with someone who is a passionate as me about music, we are good for each other.

From when I joined the SGF just a handful of years ago and reading your posts over the years you have moved on a long way and Im sure we all take our hats off to you, I certainly do with a with a large measure of envy for your "do it" approach.
You obviously have what it takes....burning ambition, desire, passionate, talented, drive,( thats not necessarily the correct order  ) and it always helps to have a hero to emulate and you have a fine hero in Paul Franklin.
So may I also add my " well done " to this post and I hope your ambitions are fulfilled. |

Jamie, I remember when you posted that you were going to move to Nashville and I remember you got some discouraging advise. I was pulling for you then and I am so proud for you now that you followed your dream and it is paying off. I had a feeling when I was reading that thread that you had what it would take to make it. I am happy for you.

Jerry yes there was mixed comments, but I had to do and see the outcome for myself, so far so good.
But that can always change too, gonna try and keep my head above water and and keep pushing.

I just talked to the people running the Countryfestival in Breim,Norway,and it seems like you are going to be there? If so,I am looking forward to meet you,I am also going to play there.It is a great place,and nice people so I am sure you will like it there. Over the years they have had such great names as Marty Stuart,Charlie Pride,Ricky Skaggs,etc. I have played there many times,and always looking forward to it.

Just an update for anyone who is interested.
Doing really well here in the states, been offered a few more road jobs. Currently in Texas doing shows, We have been in the studio last week tracking Georgettes new cd with Heart of Texas Records.
Loving every minute of it, and learning all the time whilst been here. Met some great new friends and players who have taught me so much.

I'll echo what Jody said. I had the pleasure of meeting Jamie and Georgette a couple of weeks ago while playing the Mid-Night Jamboree. Georgette sang and sounded wonderful... they both seem very well. Way to go Jamie!

Quick update. Just finished a months tour playing steel with Georgette and Danni Leigh. These artists are great to work for. I feel very lucky to get the chance to play for these artist's. Thx again for everyone's support!

Wow, Jamie, you are fullfilling that dream; I am happy for you..I was a week-end warrior for better than fifty years; fathered five great kids; raised them to the best of my ability by staying home and worked my muical career part-time; which made me quite content.But the big picture of fame & fortune never entered my mind. UPDATE:
Hey 2011 has been awesome !!
Next year looking good, touring alot with Georgette, booked with Rick Trevino, Dale Watson and Georgette to play Japan and China also next year.
And going to do my own steel guitar cd project.
New year a ShowPro Steel on the way and Little Walter Amp too !
I have alot since I have been here from some many wonderful players.
I had a dream to do this and followed it through and so fars it paying off.....always follow your dreams !
I thank GOD also
