The jam we were looking forward to has now come and gone! People left the jam today, smiling from ear to ear! Everyone expressed how they loved all the participation! It was so good to see Buddy Lewis feeling good and playing great bass, Russ Burns played a tremendous part on the drums, and much can be said for Dino Strunk but I probably wouldn't have enough room in this post. There were 9 steel players, one dobro, one double neck and one triple neck. Our vice-president Charlie Steichen surprised us all by singing! And he is really a good singer! We had a guest couple from Texarkana, TX, Glen and Sissy Privitt! He has his own band and spoke excitedly about the jams they have in Texarkana. Sissy sang for us and did a masterful job. Among other songs, Buddy Lewis sang "Workin' Man Blues and Dino and the steel players all had their shot at it. One of our members, Jim Keilblock, brought his steel for the first time and we were so glad he did, and he also sang. Good mellow voice! Leonard Robertson sang and played and also, Marlyce Stockringer sing. Like I said we had lots of particiation and it was all great!! Hank Ruf, our former president, was among the group of players! Here's a list of the other players: Bob Carden, Larry Garrett, Jerry Hanley, Eddie Lane, Roger Hurst, David White,Steve Melchi! Our president, Mr. Terry Bethel, was there and brought his particular style of wit and reminded us, as usual, to give the pickers a stronger applause! He had his nurse, Miss Lana and her daughter, with him. You talk about a wonderful array of yummies for the tummy! Thank you guys and gals!!! Oh, yes there were chips and out of sight salsa!! Now, aren't you sorry you missed it?? Our Christmas party will be December 12. You better put that on your calendar and enjoy that day with us!! _________________ Jerry and Venda |

Thanks Dana for 'your thanks'!! We miss you folk when you're not here! But I'm sure what you're doing is pleasing unto the Lord! Maybe you can make it to the Christmas Party!! You all add so much along with your mother and dad!
Leonard, I want to thank you for all that you do! And you do it with such a loving spirit. I love to hear you play and sing!! I agree, it was great to see Terry there! _________________ Jerry and Venda |
