I noticed on the Steel Guitar Nashville site that Herb Remington has two instructional videos available. Has anyone seen these? Opinions? Thanks.

I just picked up the two videos and feel there is a lot of good info on them. The first is pretty basic, but not entirely. I personally try to buy everything I can to support non-pedal instruction--so these were a no-brainer (besides Herb is one of my favorite players). I'll give more of a rundown of the two videos later in the week when I have a bit more time.

Dana,
What tuning does Herb use on the videos?

Hi Gerald, I too try to support the instructional video market- I think the Remington tapes are pretty cool-and of course it's great to watch a master "in person"-Most of the stuff is in A6 tuning,(6th in the bass) so would be just as useful for C6 players, with some excursions into E7 and C#m tunings, and tab of Steel Guitar Rag in E tuning. Most of the tapes cover melodies of well known tunes, good info and ideas, but I thought the
Cindy Cashdollar videos really a better intro to improvising and playing in a band. She really did a fine job with those. If you want to know more about the videos give me a mail... really looking forward to that melobar!!
