I came across this clip of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys from "Blazing the Western Trail." Ignoring the whole "there's no amp, and no electricity to boot!" aspect of his instrument, does anyone know what guitar he's playing?

| Like most Movies the Sound Track is pre-rcorded. The Steel in the Movie is not even plugged in to an Amplifier. Noel had more than one Steel Guitar and this one probably fit the scene better. When I first knew Noel he had a double neck National that he had been playing with Bob Wills. The Guitar players looked like Jimmy Wyble and Cammeron Hill. Notice the Guitars they were playing were Acoustic. This was one of the better Movie recordings. Bob was not screwing it up with all his usual chatter. |

Mitch woweeeeeee...I got gyped  I never saw that last one...thank you so much, I have that one you posted, I studied with Anthony for a year or so, we were neighbors early on...
I sure appreciate that..I have one EPI Rocco Tone-Expressors that Deke Dickerson was kind enough to have them shown in Guitar Player a few months ago...
Thank you and Happy New Year to you and your family...had to edit my grammar is poor and my spelling is the pits..imagine a guy like myself trying to compose a book.What would Carl Furillo do The Reading Rifle wearing Jersey # 6...Mitch he'd take the ball of the right field wall and throw it on a rope to Gil Hodges at First base, that's what he would do...Gil wore number
14 on his jersey God rest their souls.
Mitch the book has been completed, we are looking for a publisher, the one we thought I had was reviewed by two attorneys.........they said Mr. Carver don't dare sign anything, I will keep after this and the Last Fender Will Be published. It's been copyrighted.........I have the faith and will get that book in the hands of those who would enjoy what went on at Fender during those years from the eyes of a salesman.....

Here's another question about Bob Wills and "Ida Red" - who the heck is this steel player? They don't show his face, but his bar technique and that it appears that he plays just about everything with his thumbpick have to be pretty unique. Solo starts around 0:55.

| Without wanting to sound disrespectfull, the steel player has extraordinary hands, it looks like he's wearing a glove on his left hand to help grasp the bar and the fingers on his right hand appear very slender, I too would like to know who this is as he's a fine player, when you think Wills could have the pick of the crop it must have been a real buzz to be on the road at that time with such a great band, but lets not under-estimate the amount of sheer hard work they must have put in both on the road and at rehearsals |

An "Also Note":
The amp in the early Bobby K photo looks like one of the "elusive" 15" speaker Fender woodies (pre-Pro)that are so rare as to be almost non existent.
