Is anyone else bugged by the way, at times, the playing seems to wait a half a beat before it starts to play? I'm thinking of the fiddle and steel parts. It's like a fellow who doesn't know the chords to a song so he waits till the chord change before he jumps in. It's annoying to me.

It's part of the package to make it seem realistic. Laughing

Sounds like a lack of memory problem. You might try shutting any programs that are running and using up memory while you're using BIAB. Real Tracks take a long time to load in the song too. I usually never use the real track styles while I'm composing a song, then after Ive got the arrangement, etc... down, I can experiement with the real tracks. This saves a lot of time.

With BIAB 2010, real tracks are supposed to load 3 times faster.

They load OK, maybe 10 secs or so. The part I'm talking about is not memory. You can see it in the wav. files. The 1 beat comes and then past that, the wav. starts. This is in the background files.
The soloist real track does better.
