Did anyone on here remember a guy named Jack Fleming? He lived in Nashville quite a few years ago and worked with Shot Jackson. Jack did electronic repair for Shot as far as I can remember. He also played an 8 string non-pedal steel. He is from my hometown in Wytheville, VA and was DJ/manager as a local AM radio station until his death. Just curious if anyone on here ever knew Jack.
thanks

Yes, I remember Jack - I worked at Sho-Bud for about 20 years as Shot's secretary at the store on Broadway and later moved to the factory and worked with David and Harry till it was sold to Baldwin and continued working for the store till it closed. Those were happy days and I have many great memories. And I still miss it!! |

Mr Jack was a good friend for many years.I used to enjoy visiting with him at Shot's. His work space was through a door on the balcony level. He was a good electronic repairman..repaired some of my equipment.
He played some good lap steel also.I have a recording of him, and Shot somewhere.
Was he married to Trish ??? She also worked at Shot's.
He also played some luau's with Mr Kayton Roberts..
Lots of good memories of Shot's store..and the many people that worked there...
RP...'come on in'... |

Thanks for all the kind remarks. I picked with Jack a few times before he passed away. The guy that I play in a band with with has an old Fender Vibrasonic amp that Jack got from David Alan Coe. A lot of history there. Thanks again. |

I know. There was a guy not too far from me here in SW Virginia named Jerry Staley. He played double neck for many years. His last was a Mullen that I think he got about 12 years ago. He passed away from cancer about 6 years ago. He played up until his last day carrying his oxygen tank. A great guy and fantastic steel player |
