Hello everyone. It was great to visit with so many folks at the Dallas show this year. Albert and Debbie were great hosts as always.
In Dallas I was asked alot about strings. I told several guys that I would post my opinion on the Jagwire strings. I've been using Jagwire's for over a year now. These strings are exactly what the doctor ordered. They consistantly sound great. They sustain and tune up perfectly and they are long lasting. I prefer the sound of Nickel to stainless steel on any brand of string. I love the way they respond.

Paul, about 2 years ago I learned that you use a .015 for string 4. I started using .015 for the 4th at that time and the tone is sweeter, and, absolutely no fear hitting the C pedal. Have you ever experimented with a heavier Jagwire gauge on string 2, like .016? As I remember your copedent has .015 there also.
I’ve been getting custom heavy Jagwire sets from the forum. Great product and super customer service by b0b.

I wasn't aware of your string brand, but your sound, Paul, was mighty! Thanks for great note choice and good vibes.
Dave Peterson was an eye-opener as well, though my bluegrass buddies tell me he's quite hip and well-known. I need to get out more.

Hi all,
I've been thinking about trying the Jagwires. I've always used heavier strings on my 6 string for bottleneck, so I was leaning towards the same thing for my steel. I also love Paul's tone, so I gave the PF set a try.
All I can say is yeah buddy!
The nickel has a sweeter tone than the SS ones I've BEEN using, and the heavier strings are really nice too. The tuning seems very stable as well.
I'm sold.

I think we should all buy our strings from b0b and support the forum. I do. We get a great value in the forum. Part of the improved sound and minimum string breakage you'll get with forum-bought-strings is the good karma that comes with them.

Been using them for about 4 years now, can't remember the last time I broke a 3rd or 5th. I used to change the 3rd after every 3rd gig or they'd break. Not that anyone cares, but I just wanted to get on the same thread as Paul Franklin!!

I have Been using Jagwires exclusively for a year now myself. My review would match Paul's word for word. I'm still waiting for Danny to send me a white decal.....

I've been thinking of trying them on my LDG. The Lloyd Green signature series seem to be what would be the best, as I prefer a wound 6th string, especially on a Sho~Bud. Just seems to sound better to me.
Guess I'll have to start counting my pennies up and order some from b0b before too long! 
Also, a question for Paul. I remember reading some time back, on the forum I believe, that you would change strings extremely often, maybe even during breaks on a session, if I remember correctly. Do you find that you don't need to change strings nearly as often now that you're using the Jagwires?

Nickel E9th
Texas steeler Ricky Davis is best known for his recordings with Dale Watson, and for his spectaular restorations of vintage pedal steels. Ricky prefers heavier gauges on the E9th than most players, and uses a wound 6th string on the E9th neck. They seem to be very popular among Sho-Bud players.
These are nickel wound strings.

Randy Reinhard & I both use Jagwire strings and love them. We were sold the first time we ordered them and put them on our axes. That's all we use! Jagwire strings have been very consistent and they sound great. After trying so many others, these are the BEST!

You know...some months ago they sent me a set specifically designed for Push/Pull's to check out.
They were great, but I haven't heard anything more about them. Anyone know if they'll be offered in the future? |

| For those of you that use them you already know about how good they sound and how they last longer. For those of you that don't use them you should and need to give them a try. I won't use anything else. I have the Lloyd Green set on my Fingertip and the Custom PP set on my Emmons with a slight change as I use a .022 wound on my sixth string. To me they are the best. |

| I've been using Jagwire Strings for the past few years and have to agree that they are the best string for pedal steel ever made. They last a long time and stay in tune consistently. I've also been using them for dobro with equally great results. |

Anybody besides me want Bob to carry this Jagwire set? They're nickel and the guages are a nice compromise for those of us liking the SIT Emmons set.

| I have used SIT Emmons Nichel strings for some time. I would like to change to the Jagwire strings and the David Spires E9 nickel would be just right. If Bob offers them on the forum, I am sure that I am not the only one who would be interested. |

It's hard to keep a wide variety of Jagwire sets in stock. We can always substitute a couple of strings of different gauges in any of the sets that we offer, to meet your needs at no extra cost. The David Spires set is only two strings different from the Ricky Davis set.
Now, if we could just get enough shipments to keep up with demand.
