I’ll be attending the convention this year and it looks like I might have a moment to slip out and try some of the local B-B-Que. Since my yardstick for judging a restaurant is their pork ribs I was wondering if anyone had a favorite place they could suggest. I’ve been to Bandana’s a few times (not bad) but I think there is something better out there that I am missing.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim, you are missing Outlaw's BBQ.
But it is in Alexandria, La.
The best I ever had though, the "Heated" Home-made sauce is "THE" Best, and the sliced sausage they refer to as "Link" has a very special flavor.
If you're ever down that way ask for the Oulaw's Special, with Rib, link, and Ham (or beef).

Check out Annie Gunns Smokehouse but its pricey, and its in Chesterfield a good drive from the show, But very worth it.

Miss Piggys is the real deal, try the Pork Steak platter and get ready for some serious food, St Louis
s BEST BBQ and winner of many local and National Championships.

Annie Gunns is a fancy smokehouse and it is often very busy, 30-45 min wait is the norm, Charlottes Rib is darn good food, Super Smokers makes some of the best Sauces anywhere and is a past National Champion BBQ Winner in Memphis.

Smokin' Al's on South Hampton just off HWY 40 isn't too far from the hotel to drive down and back pretty quick. They won best BBQ with the RFT two years in a row. The Wolf sauce is hot, the Pup sauce is not as hot.
Check out the Porkumentary Page on www.markemerick.com
Ms. Piggies is fabulous and Don is right about the 16 oz pork steak but it's a good half hour from the Mellinnium on a good day, worse in rush hour.
Also Smokey O's, great pulled pork sandwich just off Broadway downtown about 10 minutes from the Hotel.
Too far to walk...
I'll have one to go!

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions, it looks like I am going to be busy. I figure I can hit the 17th Street Barbeque on the way into town on Friday and then Saturday make it to either Pappy’s or Smokin Al’s.

Don, I would love to join you for your birthday celebration but I don’t think I can make it to St. Louis in time. Enjoy yourself and thanks for helping put on the show.

Don, that link you suggested for the Porkumentary is excellent! I printed it off and stuck it in the front of my Rand McNally so I’ll be prepared the next time I head out on the road.

See you in St. Louis
Jim
