On Sept 30th, I am planning on having a steel jam. I hold these where I work and space is somewhat limited but we will find a way to fit everyone in. Look for more info in the next week in Events and Announcements.

b0b, I am sorry for posting this in Bar Chatter (I realize that this kind of info belongs in Events and Announcements), but this jam will be very important and I want to make sure it reaches everyone.

My website now has information.

Richard, you should get ahold of Jim Barons in Modesto. He handles all the seminars for Jeff Newman when Jeff comes to California, and I think he knows every steeler in the state. His e-mail is bigjim4b@madnet.net.

Hey Richard, Thanks for putting this together again. For those of you who haven't made it to one of these get-togethers yet, you should. It's getting bigger & better each time. It's alot of FUN and people who've been playing steel for a lifetime or a week are welcome. I'm not sure of my availability on that date yet, but if at all possible, as usual, I'll make it. -- Marc

Barry Sless now lives in San Francisco. He'd be a good guest.

Hey Richard -

Please drop me an e-mail as plans get firmed up. I wouldn't mind taking a stroll over there where there's some trees and grass and stuff.

Thanks.

Bill, you're welcome as long as you quit being so quiet and ask questions of us that have been playing awhile.

Steve, you can come if you bring a couple of them hookers.

I really hope I have room for everyone. This should be fun. Maybe everyone can bring a rhythm track of a song they do an instrumental of and we can all stare at that person while he plays. OK, it was only a suggestion.

I've had the flu the last couple of days, but I promise I will have details on my website by Saturday night.

Call Charlie Crane at 410-653-2538 to get Barrys phone number. Charlie is the drummer for much of Slesses road work.

Richard, it's beginning to sound like you'll have quite a few steelers rounded up in that machine room. Should be lotsa fun.

I'd like to suggest we kick the jam off (this time and also for future jams) the way any self-respecting civic event would open -- with everybody playing the Star Spangled Banner in unison (suggested key of G). It also may turn out to be one of the few times in history a half dozen or more pedal steel guitars were all playing together. (Guinnes Book of Records time? Maybe we should record it and put an MP3 on somebody's site. ...Bob?)
