BBE or Aphex Exciter?

Does anyone have views, pro or con as to which one is better than the other? I'm thinking of using for recording and a live application.

Better for what? They are just tools, and like all tools, can either be used to improve something or destroy something...

That being said, my favorite use of a BBE is on a tom, followed by an SPL Transient Designer--pretty awesome. Can also be used to bring muddy electric guitars forward in a mix...

The Aphex is best used sparingly and seldom...
