| Jazz listeners in the Los Angeles area may be interested in seeing the "Brian Blade Fellowship" band at La Catalinas Bar and Grill in Hollywood just off of Hollywood Blvd. on Cahuenga. The shows are from Tue. (yesterday) thru Sat. June 3rd at 8:30 and 10:30 and Sun June 4th at 7:30 and 9:30. This is a 7 piece band featuring Drums, bass, guitar, pedal steel, piano and two reeds. The bands second album, "Perceptual" has just been released on the Blue Note Capital label. The leader Brian Blade is a first rate drummer who has made the cover of "Modern Drummer Magazine" and who has played with Jazz greats such as Wayne Shorter, Joe Lovano, Kenny Garrett, and with other stars such as Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell. This is an all instrumental show of hard-to-classify music which people have been very happy with. Dave E. |
