I've had limited results recording the band with the built-in mics of the H2 because I have to have it close to me to start and stop it.

Does anyone have any experience yet with using an external mic? Things like brand, type, placement, hookup, etc.

I have been using a small Sony Stereo Condenser ECM MS907, it uses a single AA Battery and it sounds very good. I recall paying about $60 new on EBAY.

I also use a stereo extension cord and place the mic up on a Stand while the recorder is at my fingertips..

don't get a cheap extension cord...

I picked up an Audio Technica Pro 24 today at Guitar Centers

Won't know until tomorrow how it works.
