I posted this in the Steel Players section, but I'll post it again here and if b0b needs to delete one or move it, ok.

Recorded live at church this morning. Backing tracks by Jammer Pro. I added the guitar part. Steel and vocals are live, direct to the soundboard, no amp, no effects added.

Randal, I enjoyed that; good work. Did you have the privilege of setting the soundboard, or did the church soundman do it? Was good sound for being thru the board that way. Lot of sound people don't know how to set for a steel. Smile Gods blessing on your talents.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

I'm the music director and have access to the church 24/7 (I also live right next door, which makes it really easy) so I went in Sat. night and set everything up for a practice run. I had it set, but our soundman did tweak it a little. I did forget to mention that I used an el cheapo stompbox graphic eq after the volume pedal. However, the eq is set flat. I just used it for a slight volume boost. I also don't use fingerpicks, just nails. The tone is all in the Carter. Pretty good for a student model, I'd say.

That was a beautiful job you did on that song Randal. I get a little emotional whenever I here it...my wife passed away back in 2004 and I had that song played...after hearing you play it I was inspired to play it and record a version. Keep up the good work, you sound great. God Bless

Thank you, John. My inspiration to do the song came from John Hughey, who did the song on a gospel CD.

Hi Randal, I liked what you have done on it. I do gosphel once in awhile and that would be an excellant one to do. It's nice to hear someone else singing while playing the steel. Larry
