I don't buy strings for steel anymore, but I use Stringjoy strings on my guits. I'm pretty fond of them, pricey though they may be.

They are a small Nashville business with just a few people. They also draw their own strings. Visit their blog. You can also customize your sets. Good folks. Good product. Good service. Ship right away.

I have been using their guitar strings for a couple years now, and I love the strings and love buying from a small company. Have not tried them for pedal steel yet but will at some point!

Scott Marquart is the daddy of Stringjoy. He has recently added a marketing person. Great to see this young man involved in a Nashville Tn., all american enterprise. He seems sincere and really wants you to get the strings that work for you.

There's also a tension calculator on the site for us gearheads.

I'm on my first set of custom E9 and really like them, in fact I ordered 5 more sets. Great folks to do business with, they will custom make just about any combination of strings you need.

For ordering the right gauges I order the 9 string custom set and then add one single. I’ve been using them for a bit and I’m happy with them.
