Here is a 69 Bassman that was basically destroyed so I did a full bore gut job this weekend. Center channel is now the famous AA864 and the left channel I turned into a Marshall-Esque cathode follower circuit and its a screamer. Also added a mid control in the back for the center channel. The two channels are nice as you can rock and roll one and get that sweet Fender chime out of the other. Anyway, you amp heads might like this...

Cheers

Really nice!
I'm in the middle of a Bassman build for my wife. Her first real amp was an AA 371 Bassman, which she sold later when we bought the Cerwin-Vega, (monster!) Since we don't play out any more, she doesn't need all that power, and she misses the Fender sound.
This build will be strictly for bass, so I'm using the Bassman 10 circuit that eliminates the extra gain stage.

Mike Scaggs: I have a dumb question.

Do any of the wires that go from the jacks/tubes/pots/etc, that go under the board, attach to the board on the underside?
Or are they simply routed underneath the board, with all connections made on the top?

Thanks in advance.

I thought Mallory's had the sweetest "clean" tone. Orange Drops are for R&R! Wink

I do some under board wiring as I feel it's cleaner looking and I am also looking at wire dress to make my amps quiet which they are.

I am NOT an orange drop fan what so ever unless I am building a hifi amp. Personal taste I guess. Those Mallory 150s are hard to beat and the price is right too.

Just wondering if you considered putting in a DC/elevated heater supply?

I don’t really see the advantage of doing that in this design. The PT is doing the job just fine at this point...
