Dwight, If you insert a washer just snug fitting enough as to not fall out of each tip before installing them on the guitar, they will probably last for ever if not longer.

I put a .013 on the first string. It will tune up to the G ok and still be heavy enough to tune down for the D when needed. I also backed the tuning nut all the way off. Trying to raise that .013 any ...

Jacek, You should be able to tighten that screw as much as you want. It shouldn't have any affect on how the pedal functions. If it does then, there must be something else going on.
