It's entirely doable, but by the time you buy all the parts, you might be better off with a stock D-10. Only thing that might save money is if someone converted from D-10 to S-10 with pad, and still h ...

Looks good, well built, great factory support, a guitar that will last you a lifetime. If I still played pedal, I would have one (although a D-10).

I had one of the Shubb bars with the curve on the end, thinking it would be better to play those individual notes. Turned out I hated it.

I play an older E6 and E7 tuning.

E6 low to high
B, C#, E, G#, B, E

E7 low to high
B, D, E, G#, B, E

Works very well for playing melody lines, taking the lead, or just playing along.
