Me again! I am assuming that the adjustment arrangement is loosening two screws on either of the 'brackets' and sliding the bracket in/out to fit the leg spacing. Would it not be possible to drill a ...

Checked my steel; legs on center are 31"... Could the bracket be moved a bit to accomodate? Looks like it might be simple enough to move one end in a bit. If so, I'll buy it.
