There should be enough room to enlarge the speaker cutout as I believe that was the only change for the Renown 115. Naturally, it depends on where/how you open up the speaker hole.

No, it doesn't effect the sound(unless you hear some debris jumping around in the gap of the magnet). The best method is with a high pressure air nozzle.
