When I ordered new tuners from Sperzel several years ago I had to order a special set for 5 and 6 that were a little different from the rest. And I think it was for a Carter.... not sure.

Yes; the stub is connected to the hot wire but not the ground wire. No continuity = no sound!

Justice uses these little zip nuts to retain their rods. Works just fine; never had a problem. They are like 6 cents each at local HW store.
