FWIW, Red didn't play an E9 guitar, so his voicings would be different. Hence the unorthodox fingerings, akin to tryingbto copy Sneaky Pete !

I've been using a Snark for 6 years. I clip it to the C6 peghead btw pegs 5+6 and it picks up both necks without the amp even on.

Emmons used washers to shim out the undersized castings. Mine used 2 washers on 1 and 10 on both necks. You might try nylon washers from Tractor Supply .

Roger, I'd say on E9, you don't need gauged rollers. But on C6 they make a dramatic difference!

AFAIK, not in regular production. P/p 2 hole, Legrande 4 hole and Legrande 11 14 hole bellcranks.

I agree with Paddy, booth Cs to C# on a kl, move boowah out to the right end to be used with p7 for 4/5 chords

Mike's Copedent is listed @ mikejohnsonproductions.com 9 pedals and 8 knee levers. He also has a red Lashly Legrande and two Franklins for studio work, and a Pedalbro !

Jim,I know DJ gets his C# on str3 with a split. I don't but definitely use p7 and str4 lower to F to Fm on 10th fret.

I don't know about PF but on E9 splitting 5th string to get C, 6th string to get G, some split 2nd string ti get D. On C6 3 to C#, and 4 to Bb with p7.

On a different note, I've always loved the Charlie Parker cut of "Just Friends" with the lush string section. Big sustained strings with Parker riffing over them. Search it out and enjoy!

A lot of 70s Sho-Buds have textured paint on the bottom, Emmons guitars had flocking (velvet looking). Both companies only made solid maple guitars.
