Hey Dave -

I like the idea of that last tuning to described, all in 3rds. Does that set of D'Adarrio EJ-17's work with that? Could you please tell me what those gauges are? Thanks so much!!

Speedy's son Gary was a good guitar player, who played blues in the style of his idol Albert King. I was in a band with him on keys, sax and harmonica in the 70's in OKC that played 6 nights a week at ...

Nice one Ron! First I wrote it out in manuscript - the notes and rhythms. Then I notated which notes are picked cleanly and which are slid to. So now I can can play it pretty well. At a quarter-speed. ...

Hey Bob - I did bring back the mids that I scooped out, and it does give the sound more meat for single-string higher stuff. I find I can still sound pretty by picking the strings further from the bri ...

I'm loving the tone I get on my Williams with the Lawrence 705 blade-type pickup - colorful and warm. However in loud situations, a band will cover up most of that, leaving (especially in the higher r ...

Yeah - what Tony said. The Paul Franklin thing of raising those strings to get that D in there is great. Also the A to C gives you 3 consecutive whole-step-apart strings (C-D-E) which is great for pla ...

I really appreciate that Roger - yep that was the E9 neck. There isn't much you can't find chord-wise on it.
