Looks like your lowering rods can be moved up one hole closer to the changer axle which would shorten the needed lever stroke. That's how my Zum is set up.

It sounds like the timing between your 9th and 2nd strings is off. String 9 should travel slightly flat of C# when string 2 reaches C#.

Wouldn't the compensation required change as soon as you press a pedal changing the tension and the pitch? Maybe a small amount? And how much compensation for that low A on C6th?

Neck thickness aside, some of the string height is necessary for proper down-bearing for strings 5 and 6.

If your problem is with friction at the nut, a raise will return flat and a lower will return sharp.

The white lithium grease I used hardened over time and caused the pedals to drag. I would use light oil as Kevin suggested.
