The symptom I had was that the tone control didn't do much and then cut the volume drastically which is what you originally said you had. Now you're saying the tone gives full tone cut (which it is s ...

The bid price is very attractive, I tried to calculate shipping and it came back with a big " error" Laughing

They are claiming 150 pounds shipping weight, which is way too high, it ...

Yes, I was going to say exactly the same thing. The trapezoid pickups on my Dual Pro behaved in the same way when I got it - also the sound was quite thin with not a lot of bass.

I had them rewoun ...

As a guitar player, you might really like A6.
I find it easier to get my head round - you have an A major on the top 3 strings (like playing a "cowboy chord" A on your guitar) and the relat ...

I think all the early (long scale) ones had the smaller angle. When the later medium and short scale guitars came out, they used the new legs and sockets with the larger angle.

Of course there are ...

Why not simplify it and start off with an open E major chord and use one pedal to lower the G# to G for the minor and another pedal to lower one of the Es to D for the 7th?

Thanks for your reply Jeff - in the book the A7 tuning is (from the top) E C# A E C# G

In that case I'd say use different string gauges on strings 4-6 at least.

Depends of what version of C6 (high G or high E for example) and what version of A7.

Certainly if your C6 is ECAG and your A7 is EC#AG you'll be fine with the same strings!

You don't need a bridge with individually adjustable saddles on a lap steel.

I'd fix a simple steel bar there. Even a bolt or large nail from the hardware store would be better than what you have( ...
