Ben,
The lower return compensator was my fathers concept...It was introduced in I believe 67. He put them on my MSA, Sho-Bud's, PP, and all Franklins came with them.....

The C6th is the easiest tuning to learn....No pedals

Omit the 9th string and all strings are C6......
