If I'm not mistaken, I believe Maurice Anderson built an under arm guitar equipped with cables and a foot control to change the pitch of strings.
I'm sure this idea could be adapted to lap steel. Very Happy ...

I would pull the tuner pan and, if it has the open gears, apply some white lithium grease. Very Happy

One thing I did notice with the Bella keyless head (thanks Jim), the pulls were shorter, especially on the 5th and 6th strings.
You didn't need to pull the long strings past the nut to make the chan ...

I agree that BJS bars are hard to beat and I really like my John Hughey 15/16" bar.
It's hollowed out so it weights about the same as a 7/8" bar. Very Happy
