If you add down pressure to the bar does it persist? String height may be an issue.
Is it for sure the string buzzing, or is there a sympathetic buzzing from something loose?

If you put your palm between the bridge and the string anchor and pick does it go away?

The break angle on a stringmaster is plenty steep, but your bridge may have a flatspot.

Keeley Makes an automatic double tracking pedal, which emulates the famous tape based effect and more.

I have no first hand experience with it, but it gets good reviews.
