Not in my opinion. I use one with a NV112 as well as a NV400. A little different sound of course but not because of the profex but because of the amp. Your mileage may vary.

I've been putting my bar on the keyhead since 1982 when I was in Duane Marrs store and saw him do it. It makes sense ...that's what the bar does(lay on the strings)

Have you checked to see if the 3rd string bell crank is loose on the cross shaft? I believe the early MSAs had round cross shafts.

I lower my 6th string on RKR and raise 1&2 on the same knee. I have one of John Hughey's Emmons and it was that way when I got it. Works for me.
