fwiw, You can still play everything you already know on the top 7 strings of the A6th tuning.

First, I suggest practicing harmonics on your acoustic steel. If you can't hit them, the amplified steel cannot amplify them!

Hi Fred, I use Jules Ah See C13 and I love it! I sometimes tuned the Bb to C# for some Jerry Byrds songs or to G to play some bass on country songs.
