thats really neat Andy. I think most of us are working out of small spaces so being able to make use of that is very important. I usually keep my lap steels on a regular guitar stand and find that rig ...

Nothing against ebay because I've certainly bought enough from them but in recent years, have had more problems. My opinion only but I would check out some of the great builders websites and compare f ...

I don't see any problem with it. I get a lot of music from 6 string C6 CEGACE. Look at some slants and maybe even behind the bar string pulls/bends. I've heard some interesting stuff using that method ...

Non pedal is a lot of fun. I got really into 6 string C6th and haven’t quite gotten away from it. I tried 8 string but it was a short scale steel and the low notes just didn’t sound good to me. My ...

I like the old stuff but the old guitars are usually a lot of trouble unless previously restored or gone through by a good mechanic. I would suggest getting something newer now and over time if you fe ...

I definitely don't think your wasting time. A lot can be done with 6 strings. Give C6th a try and E7th is interesting too but I prefer C6th CEGACE low to high.

I play a 6 string lap steel tuned to CEGACE and with slants get some pedal like sounds. It takes a while to get the slants right so I advise to practice a lot if you go that route. Behind the bar bend ...

Some of my steels don't sound good or even have much sound at all unplugged so I was kinda surprised at the volume and good tone of the McKinney unplugged.
