My band got to use Ear Trumpet condensers this summer at a show in BC. Beautiful mics but too much $$ to own ourselves.

Exactly, Erv. Volume and distortion hides crappy playing. I know this from experience.

Excellent questions. I'm very interested to hear how the real pros talk to each other- both how PSG players talk to each other, and how PSGers convey their playing to other musicians.

I like the Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail Nano- sounds great, easy to use, not too many knobs to waste time on. And they are available inexpensive used.

Thanks, Doug. The 1940s Epiphone vids. I like that tuning because it's close to E9 PSG. The same reason I have been trying the six-string tuning you posted a few weeks ago- D E F# G# B E

Tom, that's exactly what I was thinking. I might keep the top two strings like PSG, so I won't be confused all the time. I like the low B.

Maybe this: B D E F# G# B C# E G# (or D) F#

Hi steelers.

Tomorrow, I'm picking up a 10-string home-build steel on legs.

I play PSG, but not straight steel except for some 6-string dobro, tuned 5,6,1,3,5,1, low to high.

Any thoughts on ...

My understanding is that $475 is an introductory price. I'm really thinking about paying for a year's subscription. That would be $600 Canadian. For sure, I would be happier paying $50 CAN a month.
