Just bought it on the Canadian iTunes. Listening now as I eat my breakfast. Great stuff Fred! Keep the music coming. It sure would be cool if you ever played Vancouver (or even Seattle or Portland). A ...

A couple of the tuners on my Goldtone have been slipping and I was wanting to replace them with better ones. Could they be Schallers? Like these:

I saw Cindy a few weeks back with Dave Alvin and the Guilty Women. She played dobro and her Sierra 8 string. The show was awesome and it was a masterclass just watching her respond to what her bandmat ...

Thanks guys. Yeah, I think I'll go a tad lighter, just to be safe. It's actually my wife's old acoustic that she "lent" me. My marriage is more important than slightly improved tone!

Hello,
I decided to put some heavier strings on an old Samick acoustic that I'd converted to lap (DADF#AD). I've been using D'Addario EJ16s for a year or so but needed heavier melody strings. I put m ...

This tuning looks really cool, Mike. I've found the minor triad to be one of the most useful tools for jazz improv on standard guitar and am trying to explore it on steel. A book called Jazz Guitar St ...

Awesome video.
I'm wondering if one of the women winding pickups is Abigail Ybarra. She was the main winder there and thought of as an icon by today's Fenderheads.

I use a Visual Sound Route 66. It's the one with 2 effects in one: an excellent TS-8 style distortion plus a pretty useful compressor. The nice thing is there's a switch for both effects so you can ch ...

I recently picked up a Walworth and it's pretty good. It has a nice weight to it and it's small enough to fit within the smaller clearance you get with an acoustic with nut raiser. The only downside i ...

If the pot is defective (I guess that's still tbd) I personally, would replace it.
I picked up a 58 Fender Esquire that had worn out tuners, and a bad switch. I replaced them and put the originals in ...

I have one of these but the strings attach at the bridge rather than the end of the guitar. It looks like the bridge has been replaced and the string attachment moved. I love the sound of these btw!
