Here's Dwight's steel player Josh Grange picking on a Maverick. He told me his Pro 1 was out on the road and he had the Maverick out as a spare on another gig. I consider this to be the ultimate Sho~Bud tone, but I didn't know it could be coaxed out of a Maverick. Kinda makes a case for "tone in the hands".

Chris, when my granddaughter, who's a fair musicician, heard this her comment was, "Is that you on the Blue Bird?" Meaning my blue MSA Millennium. Have to laugh at that one.

Guess the tone is in the ears of the beholder, huh?

Yes, Fred, and I guess passion may come into play as well. Josh is a great guy with a lot of soul, and it comes through on this clip. I'm sure you have a lot of passion in your playing as well, and that's probably what your granddaughter was sensing.

Chris .... that tone has to come from the hands.I have a steel like that and I cannt coach that out of mine. But it dose prove a point ,that is given any guitar and realy great player can coach great sound out of any of them.
