NOTE: Ralph Stanley has become known for the song Man of Constant Sorrow, and other contributions to the “O Brother Where Art Thou?” soundtrack including the song, O Death, which won a 2002 Grammy Award. The Stanley Brothers and The Clinch Mountain Boys recorded over 200 albums of bluegrass / country, gospel and folk music. They are revered as legends among bluegrass / country recording artists and fans. “Man of Constant Sorrow” premiered at the Barter in 2005. [RALPH STANLEY] Early 30’s to mid 40’s. Great banjo player. Actor must be able to sing high bluegrass harmonies for which Ralph is famous and play banjo well.
