I posted this topic on the "Instrument" thread. It was appropriately moved to this topic. It referenced my interest in providing "after-market" fretboards for steels. It has created a lot of inquiries. I need to re-write that old post here, and ask that interested players simply drop me a note providing explicit information about the guitars they want fretboards for.
Post here or email me saying, "Tom, put me down to be notified if and when thee fretboards are available. I will want a fretboard for a
1. _________ (Brand of guitar.)
2. _________ (6, 8, 10 or 12 string neck)
3. _________ (Style of fretboard if your guitar brand had different style fretboards and you know what it is called.)
More Explanation: I have contacted a firm that can makes these fretboards. The problem is that the set-up cost is really expensive. Therefore, I need to have an idea as to how many potential customers exist for all the brands of guitars that might need fretboards. Next, I want to keep the price as low as possible. For example, I got myself in a mess over a Dekley I've restored. I promised the owner new fretboards for it. If I don't get another order for a Dekley fretboard, those two are going to cost me $100.00 each. I'm stuck; I have to buy these. Had I realized the price to begin with, I'd have never promised the owner to replace the fretboards. Poor planning on my part, huh?
So, drop me an email or post the needed information here. Please don't contact me about this. I expect to get the information and post it here in about 10 days from now. I'll contact everyone who has expressed an interest in a new fretboard right here on this topic (as well as provide information for those who posted on the other thread and sent me inquiries). I want to be able to sell these for under the going price for fretboards (under $30).
All the fretboards will be silkscreened on aluminum sheet metal. They will have to be nearly indistinguishable from the original-equipment fretboards on the brand you own. Otherwise, I won't be selling them at all. I hope I've covered everything. If not, look for me to edit this and include more explanation. ...Tom

I guess a Multi-Kord is out of the question, huh?
Restorer's Rule #6: The replacement fretboard should always be of lesser value than the instrument for which it is intended.

Tom,
I could use 3 Fender "Deluxe" type w/22.5" scale length...acutally any "generic" 8 string 22.5" would do for home projects.
Thanks,
Tom Jordan |

100$ setup seems like a lot. I own a screen printing shop and have been talking to Jerry Fessenden about screening his fretboards. His fretboards are just three colors and I would charge more like 45$ as setup. Also I think 25$ each is a bit cheap, I think the going rate is about 40. |

Tom;
Eventually I will need (3) 10-str. Fretboards for a 22½” or 23” Max. scale-length. Possibly Fender 800/2000 or GFI style, as long as they are all (3)-identical! John Bechtel |

Tom,
1. Emmons
2.12 string
3. I would prefer the gloss black (not flat black) with chrome lines, but will take white lines too. Ideally I would like 2 of each (2 w/white, 2 chrome) or 4 of whatever I can get.
