On the pedal steel forum, I came across one of my faves with instruction. I love this song (I built my kitchen floor and trim with imported hickory because of this song, and good, old baseball bats). I do it on a regular guitar and I'm trying to get a reasonable facsimile..
For the intro:
I started on the 5th fret (5th to 3rd and back on the 1st 3 strings). Then up to 12, 14, slide to 15 (strings 1&2), then down to 5,7,5,3 (strings 1&2) then slide up from 3 to 5 (2nd&3rd strings). Does this sound all right to any takers? Does anyone have the tabs for this song on a non-pedal steel?

I am tuned to open G for this song. I was hoping someone had a better attack for this song.

Maybe listen to this version by the Seldom Scene. I couldn't find any tab for this song for dobro or lap steel, sorry.
