I'm playing a rare local club gig with Heather Myles on Saturday at Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneer Town/Yucca Valley Ca.

I'm sorry to say, there will be no steel guitar.....I'm playing bass this time. Long story short: low money & no time to rehearse. I know her songs on bass, which in my opinion is a better scenario than trying to wing it with a new bass player. Anyway, her guitarist Bob Ryan can totally cover ALL the basses.
Heather is really a true friend of the pedal steel, and usually uses one, but sometimes it just has to be this way. Come check her out, she's one of the greatest country singer/songwriters around!

This weekend the band that I play with, Philadelpheia, will be rehearsing our original material for our recording session in Nashville next week, beginning Wed. We are very excited about doing this new project for our new label "C1S Christian". Our producer is Bob Ham who produced the group "Atlanta", and was also a co-producer in some of the "Alabama" early projects. Keep us in your prayers.....HAL

I'll be on lead and steel tonight Jan.7 with Otto Shelor and the Ravens at the American Legion in Denbeigh, Va. from 7:30 to 11:00. Tommorrow, January 8th which is Elvis' birthday, I'll be on lead guitar at the Outer Banks Theater in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina (of Wright Bros. fame) with Sterling Riggs and the TKC Band (The King's Court) for an Elvis Show. I love those Elvis gigs as I get to do those old Scotty Moore licks which I love....Have a good 'un..JH

I will be at my favorite hall in Texas! We are at Harmonie Hall in Shelby, Texas. This place is a non smoking dance hall where folks bring their kids and such. It is the worst paying job we ever do, but we still play there 3-4 times a year simply because of the vibe.

Sat., 11 p.m. at the Lock and Keel in Ballard with Clay Bartlett. Most likely my Magnatone 8-stringer, as I need to stand and it's one of the few I have that's equipped to take legs -- also goes good with my Maggie amp! (This actually is a rare thing -- I hardly play out anymore; I just hate lugging my crap around)
