Dan Dugmore did the steel on the Ronstadt vocal, I don't know if he has ever done it as an instrumental, but several others have. One that comes immediately to mind is the late, great Gene O'neal on his Funky Monkey album released sometime late 80's I think.

The best one I heard so far is "Bobby Black`s version on the album-California freedom,released by Tom Bradshaw.
