It is confusing.

The chief song writer was Will Oldham and in the 90's he kept changing the band name. There's too many to keep up with but the main first one was called 'Palace'.

By this album he had changed his band name to 'Bonnie Prince Billy'. The premise of this album was that he hired a bunch of studio nashville musicians, and re-recorded all of his old Palace hits as 'Bonnie Prince Billy'.

The OP has the band name wrong in the subject line.
