Forgive me if I've overlooked a post on this subject, but did anyone else happen to see Terry with Joe Nichols on the show that immediately preceeded the "Opry Live" this past weekend? I think it was a live performance from one of the Fanfair stages.
At any rate, even though he didn't get a chance to really "shine", Terry played exactly what was called for on Joe's tunes.
While steel guitar may not be at the forefront of Joe's material, I am very happy to see that Terry has landed a job with a popular young artist. The best thing about the gig,(according to what Terry told me recently),is the fact that Joe knows how to treat his musicians with the respect and dignity that they so richly deserve.
I consider Terry to be a great friend. He has been through a lot in the past couple years, and I am truly happy to see that he's making a really good living at what he loves and does best.

Greg I did see Terry on the tube with Joe, I was glad to see him playing,Had'nt seen him for a while,and he did sound good!

I've long admired this fine player - ever since that Skaggs album, 'Love's Gonna Get You' on which he was so heavily featured.

I also saw Terry play with Ricky on a UK tour a few years back.

I caught the very last bars of the Joe Nicholls thing - I certainly heard the steel, as he was soloing over the end-credits - and wondered who it was playing the 'signature licks' (there was no close-up).

It amazes me that someone who is clearly such a top-rank player can apparently 'disappear' - I hope we'll hear more of Terry from now on!

I caught that portion of the show and enjoyed it. I thought Terry sounded great on his Derby.

when that caliber of player isn't playing

I surprised Terry when he was sitting in his lounge chair outside the tour bus at the May concert with Joe Nichols and Blake Shelton show here in Meridian. It had been quite a few years since I had spoken with him at a Ricky Skaggs concert here.

Great player and a pleasant guy. Also, guitarist Rod Riley was in the band who played with Ricky Van Shelton for years. I'm glad to see them still enjoying themselves.

I am very happy Terry is back with us. He is a great steel guitar player and is one of those best kept Gnashville secrets.
Gregg, it was truly a pleasure working with you again last month at the Elders Ball. You have always been one of my guitar heros.
