I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I checked my email. I had a reply from J.D. about those songs on his website. Here is his comments:

quote:
Bob thanks so much for your kind remarks. It's all mine, for better or
worse. It was just a little project that I undertook last winter. I recorded
it all on my home computer. I used 2 different steels during the effort. I
started with a 17 yr old Dekley but about this time last year I purchased a
used Mullen. I glad you enjoyed the effort. I am planning on starting
another project this winter. Any suggestions for songs?

PS: I went straight in the board on most of the songs.
Again thanks for the kind remarks and I am really glad to make your
acquaintance. Where are you located.. I am in Broken Arrow Oklahoma

I think we should encourage J.D. to do a CD.
What do you think? He is open to suggestions for songs. I'm making my list (and checking it twice now.

Doyle, I know exactly what you mean in saying "J.D. is the best friend I have in the steel guitar world." By an accident of schedules, he & I first crossed paths in the Boston area back in the mid '80s. I felt then as if I had just met a new best friend, and those sentiments have never changed. J.D. is one of the nicest human beings God put on this earth. What a happy coincidence that he also just happens to be a fantastic musician -- and now, to be my very dear friend, too! This guy taught me more on steel guitar than I could ever learn in a lifetime from others.

I tried to download the "C-6th Medley" and it is going to a Temporary File. Download time: 55 Minutes. I tried to download
"Remington Ride". Download time: 24 Minutes.

Is there a faster way to download those mp3 files?

I got them all and they are great. He is definitely "Mr.Smooth" !

I am partial to C6 sounds so the C6 medley and Unforgettable, and Moonglow were my favorites. But I liked them all.

If record producers wont record us, then just make our own and sell them ourselves.

Not a bad idea.I am sure that JD will be putting out a CD with all the interest in his playing.....al
