I just got off the phone with Robert Randolph . . . He told me that the latest issue of Guitar World Magazine has an article on him. It will probably be titled, "The Word", which is the name of his newest album slated for release July 31st.

He also mentioned that the following (an announcement to the Robert Randolph e-mailing list) is still correct as far as he knows

Be SURE to record and watch the VH1 5-minute piece on him ... very nice. Congratulations, Robert!

btw: If you wish to be on the mailing list from his managers, you may sign up here: Robert Randolph Mailing List

Here's the email announcment:

"In the news again- There's a nice review of Robert Randolph & The Family Band's show this past Saturday night with the North Mississippi All-Stars at The Birchmere in Alexandria, VA from Monday's Washington Post. Here's a link to it:

Young Man Blues Times Two (washingtonpost.com)

And here's a link to the VH1.com interview with Robert:

VH1.com The Wire...

Plus, don't forget to catch the television feature on Robert on VH1 News all this week at the following times:

July 19 6:20am
July 20 9:20am
July 21 2:20am
July 22 6:20am and 4:20pm

We'd also like to let those of you in the NYC area know about a special
unannounced show the band is doing this Saturday night, July 21st
, at Tribeca
Blues, 16 Warren Street in Manhattan. (That's right, there's 2 shows
Saturday, for those of you who are really ambitious- since they also play at
Central Park Summerstage at 3:00 that afternoon) There are a very limited
number of tickets left for this show. Don't delay in getting your tickets as
this is a small venue and it will sell-out! Tickets are $15 and will be done
through Paypal (with $1 service charge) or by cash or check. Email this
address: events@velourmusic.com with your NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, PHONE
NUMBER and NUMBER OF TICKETS needed and you can get hooked up!!

That's all for now and, as always, thanks for supporting RR&TFB..."

Thanks for the update Ann. It looks like Friday night I can finally get to see the video clip! I just can't bring myself to get up to do anything before the crack of noon.
