Somthing I have never done before is record to my hard drive.
If I were to hook up the line out of my Fostex 4 track tape deck to the line in on my sound card, what software Etc would I need to record to the hard drive?? Once I have it on the hard drive, I will be burning it to my CD-R. I have Windows 98 & a 400MGhz computer.
Thanks in advance to all

Get Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 Deluxe. It has all the software you need. It has a program that will allow you to store the songs on the hard drive (convert them to .wav files) and then the software to assemble the files in the order you want on the CD and then burn it.

There are other software packages but this one is the easiest to use (user friendly).

Rick,

What you have should work for you as well. You might check the Adaptec web site for the latest version of what you already own as I had some bugs in the early versions when used with fast PC's. The Deluxe version just adds features and also updated the label printing etc... What you own should work just fine.

Rick, I use a program from Syntrillium called Cool Edit. It works well for editing, or touching-up.

Hi Rick, Remember whatever you use..the raw wav(best quality)will play on normal CD players like in your car or home stereo...however if you create MP3 wavs, they will only play on the puter or Mp3 players...Im sure you knew that.... I use a tascam lined into the puter and record on Windat...then compress to WMA on CDDA a great compresser....my Wma wavs lose a bit of quality but the whole song is about 200K ..a two min download for email...
Let me know if i can be of anymore help..
sending you an invitation to driveway.com for my music... plays back on Windows Media,Winamp or Realplayer Bill in Vegas
