I'm hoping Mike Brown can help me here. I ordered replacement filter caps for my Vegas 400 10/22/04. The schematic calls for two 4700uf/55vdc and two 1000uf/35vdc axial electrolytic caps. The first person I talked to could not find a parts list for that amp, but talked to someone else there and told me she could send two 1000uf/50vdc and that the two 4700uf caps would be $8.77 each, which is what another forum member quoted as the correct price. Two days ago I received instead two 1000uf/50 and two 220uf/25 caps. I called Peavey parts again and the person I talked to told me there were no 4700uf/55 caps available, but she could send me two 4700uf/63 caps for $12.50 each. This would of course be fine. I asked her if the caps had axial leads and she confirmed that they did. These caps were send UPS overnight, which I appreciate. Unfortunately they are radial, four lead caps. The order numbers were #849024, and #850008. What I am hoping for here is a name or extension number for someone with enough expertise to get this order right. Thanks in advance.

I have replaced the capacitors of my Nashville 400 with the following caps:
2 capacitors 1000uf/35 volt and 2 capators 4700uf/50 volt in the power circuit
I also replaced 9 capacitors in the tonal circuit, and my amp sounds as new.
Al these capacitors are available in a electronic store.
Hope this helps,
Jack

OK, thanks to Heather at Peavey parts I finally got the correct order. Seems there was a problem with parts numbers being entered incorrectly on the order forms. For anyone else wanting to buy filter caps from Peavey, here are the correct part numbers:
4700uF/55VDC 70340102 $8.77 each
1000uF/35VDC 70320026 $2.96 each
These all have axial leads.

Well, I just read this and unfortunately it is all "water under the bridge" as they say. The Parts Department here at Peavey has recently undergone some personnel changes and we apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. We do have qualified personnel in our Parts Department with a staff that has many years as Peavey employees. As with any new job position comes new learning curves(even if you have been an employee for many years), so please be patient and we will get your orders processed and shipped in a timely manner. If there are any questions about your order, please feel free to contact me at 1-877-732-8391, ext. 1180.

Thanks for your understanding.

All's well that ends well...if the world was perfect we'd all play like Buddy Emmons.
