| Not made in China stuff. I would like to get some Allen Bradley 500 K pots,but I am not sure if they are still available. GEORGEL's has pots listed for $28 but I wonder if they are good mil.spec parts like the older ones?? any help? bob |

Paul Franklin Sr. sells a Canadian made pot that's a long-life type to replace the extinct AB or Clarostat types. I think PEC is the brand name. Paul Sr. likes them alot. I think they're $15 and so far my two have performed real well (in two different pedals). They feel smoother than the other ones too. Not sure how long they'll last, only time will tell.

It's true the Canadian (especially B.C.) pots have a lot more 'Gain and presence' and than Mexican pots.

Canadian Pot(s) may be less available.
The old Molson Brewery was busted.

Try KWAT in Norfolk, Virginia. They deal in Military Surplus, no doubt they might have some. Sorry, don't have any other information, such as phone # or Website.
They aren't Cheap, but they do buy out whole inventories of obsolete parts from Navy supply warehouses sometimes. Would help to know the Navy Stock Number or Mil Part number when You call.[This message was edited by John Floyd on 15 January 2004 at 01:24 PM.] |

This Canadian company http://www.precisionelectronics.com
makes high quality pots. Their KA logarithmic series are rated for 25,000 cycles. They have a 5K linear that is rated for 1 million cycles. Digikey http://www.digikey.com sells them over the internet. I have bought quite a few parts from them and they ship quickly. The 500K pot part number is KA5041S28-ND sells for $8.94 each and they have 61 in stock. They will add a $5.00 charge if your order is less than $25.00.

Thanks Karlis for that source of pots. I have ordered KA5041S28-ND and will let you all know how it works for me.
25000 cycles sounds kinda low for a steel player's needs, but it's better than my last two Clarostat pots (from George L's and Scotty), which failed within a few days. |

| I'll warn you guys that these PEC pots are LINEAR. They won't have the little boost near the end that most people are used to with AB\Clarostats. |
