I'm looking for a replacement speaker for my Evans Hybrid 300. Right now it has a blown JBL E130-4 in it. I'm considering getting one of the Weber 4 ohm Michigan series speakers with either a ceramic or alnico magnet (big difference in weight and cost). Anyone have an opinion or experience with these speakers?
Thanks, Chuck |

Chuck--although this is one of their high power series it is only rated at 100W. They consider their ratings conservative but still....
I am a big fan of Webers but I don't know that I'd put anything other than a true high power speaker in my Evans (BW in there now). |

I use a 2 x 12 with Weber Californias for steel, they are very clean, the tone is not dark, but a little less bright than JBLs.
I mention this this because the Michigan is supposed to have more bass/low mids than the California.
You may want to search here on SGF for comments about the California and/or Michigan. |
