I got myself a ProFex 11 a few weeks ago, when I finally tried the Jeff Newman programs, I realized how good it makes you sound. I had been using an Alesis Midiverb 3, which has good reverb and delay effects,
but the ProFex , with the Newman programs, is much better.

Just playing with the programs a bit, I have a few favorites:

#1 Jeff's cho
#14 Buddy
#23 65 Emmons
#82 Jeff Steel
#113 Dobro ?
#115 St louis

These sound really good to me. What are your favorites? Have you changed any of the programs to sound different in any way? What about the original factory programs, has anyone found them useful at all?

Bill, I went from an Alesis Quadraverb to the ProfexII and it was an big improvement. I also installed a Miracle Audio Mod by John LeMay which made a world of difference in the sound of all of the programs (best $50 I ever spent on steel equipment!) My sugestion would be to spend time finding EQ settings pleasing to you for your guitar/amp set-up and the room you're in. (If you can record yourself, that's even better.) The EQ settings that I use for my Nashville amps are different than those that I use for my rack system. My favorite "preset" programs are all of Jeff's and the Lloyd Green programs. I use ones that I've written myself almost exclusively. (Maybe this explains why I have no neighbors...)
